Gov Ademola Adeleke lauds Layi Wasabi on AMVCA win

AMVCA 2024: Layi Wasabi clinched Best Digital Content Creator


Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State couldn’t be any prouder, as he wrote a hearty congratulatory message to comedian Layi Wasabi in honor of his AMVCA win as the Best Digital Content Creator.

In his post about Layi Wasabi, Governor Ademola Adeleke shared a photo of him and wrote;

He hailed him as a son of Osun state and noted that the comedian promotes the identity of the state through his contents which are both informative and educative.

“A very big congratulations to one of our own, a proud son of Osun State, Isaac Ayomide Olayiwola, popularly known as @layiwasabi on his exploit as the winner of the Best Digital Content Creator at the 2024 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

The skit maker also thanked the governor in his post.

Over the past few years, Layi Wasabi has been releasing skits, which gradually gained nationwide recognition.

One of his most popular characters in his skits is ‘The Law’. Layi himself said that this character is one of his favorite.

He once revealed that the clothes he wears while playing ‘The Law’ was inherited from his grandfather. He mentioned that the shoes he wears are over twenty years old.

According to Layi Wasabi, he was rummaging through his grandfather’s old clothes, when he came across the now famous suits in his skits.

The content creator also shared an interesting origin story about his lawyer character, which he said was inspired during his NYSC programme at the Ministry of Justice in Ibadan.
