- Simi faulted the Nigeria Police for saying they will counsel Musa Suleman, the Edo dad arrested for engaging his four-year-old daughter, Sarah Suleman in adult content on social media.
- She expressed dissatisfaction on the fact that the police chose to counsel the parents instead of persecution.
Renowned singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has expressed disapproval of the Nigeria Police Force’s decision to provide counseling to a father arrested for sharing explicit content of his four-year-old daughter, a child model, on social media.
Recall the police public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the arrest and stated that the Edo State Police Command would opt for counseling the parents instead of pursuing legal action.
The police officer described the incident as an “act of indecency” that exposes the child to harm.
Simi and many others have however criticized this approach, emphasizing the severity of the offense and the need for accountability.
Simi believes that counseling may not be sufficient in addressing the gravity of the situation.
The PFRO wrote:
“This is an act of indecency and exposing the young child to moral dangers. The PPRO of Edo Command will take it up and counsel the parents rather than prosecute them. Many of us don’t know the implications of what we do. We will educate them, and many alike. This kind of a thing will expose the girl to the rots in our system and moral dangers. Not in all cases we prosecute, there is a room for ADR and CSR in our duties, and we shall be adopting such. @EdoPoliceNG, @PoliceNG.”
In reaction Simi wrote:
“You want to ‘counsel’ parents that blatantly and repeatedly sexually exploit a baby??? A four year old child!!! Wtf is going on?????? Omg.”
In another story, a Viral video of Adekunle Gold tackling Simi in the studio stirs reactions.
In video making the rounds, AG Baby was heard imitating Simi’s accent and making fun of her for pronouncing open as ‘hopen’.
In response to her husband’s mockery, Simi defended herself, claimed that he wasn’t listening well enough to hear her clearly.
