CCTV footage of Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie surfaces amid US rapper’s legal issues

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has long been celebrated for his remarkable achievements in the music industry and business world, epitomizing the quintessential rags-to-riches story. Yet, the allegations of sexual misconduct and the emergence of CCTV footage purportedly showing him assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie have cast a profound shadow over his legacy, challenging the public's perception of his character

Video footage has emerged of embattled American rapper and music executive, Sean Combs, aka Diddy, reportedly assaulting his former signee and estranged girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway.

The hotel surveillance video, dated March 5, 2016, and obtained by CNN, captured multiple camera angles of the alleged assault.

In the explosive footage released on Friday, Cassie is captured donning a black hoodie and carrying a duffle bag as she anxiously calls for an elevator at the now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

Moments later, the scene escalates dramatically when the music mogul, clad only in a towel, sprints down the hallway after the singer.

The pursuit reaches a violent climax as Diddy catches up to Cassie, brutally striking her, yanking her by the hair, and forcefully throwing her to the ground.

The rapper also kicks Cassie twice while she remains on the ground, before grabbing her bag and dragging her back toward the hotel room.

The emergence of the footage is against the backdrop of the multiple sexual assault charges being pressed against Diddy.

This disturbing incident seems to corroborate several allegations made in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Cassie in November 2023.

In the lawsuit, the singer accused Combs of trafficking, raping, and beating her on numerous occasions over a span of 10 years.

The lawsuit labelled the musician a “serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood”.

Diddy denied the allegations, calling them “offensive and outrageous”.

The rapper and Cassie’s relationship began in 2007. They made their public debut as a couple in 2012.

The pair, however, broke up after a heated argument in 2018.
