Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has made a statement declaring himself the top musician in West Africa.
During his appearance on the podcast “Curiosity Made Me Ask” hosted by Bae U Barbie, he claimed to be the most trending musician in the region.
He stated:
“I am the number one musician/celebrity in West Africa. No one is hotter than me”.
Speed Darlington had earlier addressed comparisons with fellow artist Portable, emphasizing that he is a more established artist and should not be compared to others.
He highlighted his ability to conduct his business without issues, unlike Portable, who recently faced legal troubles.
The controversy ensued after reports emerged that Portable, known for his controversial style and music, was arrested by the police over alleged debt amounting to N14 million related to his G-Wagon.
Seizing the opportunity, Speed Darlington took to social media to mock Portable’s predicament, adding fuel to the fire.
Speed Darlington prides himself on living within his means, revealing that his Benz is an impressive 18 years old.

“You see Portable jumping the fence? He’s in trouble! A Yoruba superstar can’t even afford a Benz [laughs].”
