Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to the governor of Delta State, has openly criticized popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael over his choice of outfit at the funeral of his late colleague, Junior Pope.
The funeral, held in Enugu State, marked the final farewell to Junior Pope, who tragically lost his life in a boating accident along with other crew members on April 10, 2024.
Ossai Ovie Success expressed his displeasure with Zubby Michael’s outfit, describing it as disrespectful and inappropriate for the solemn occasion.
The actor opted for a red t-shirt, a choice that did not sit well with Ossai, who believed that considering Junior Pope’s young age at the time of his passing, a more somber attire would have been more suitable.
Ossai went on to suggest that a white or black outfit would have been more fitting for the occasion, emphasizing that funerals are moments of solemn reflection rather than celebratory gatherings.
In his words;
“This is disrespectful to late Jnr Pope. Dear Zubby Michael, this your red dressing is inappropriate. This your red t shirt dressing to the burial ceremony of late Jr Pope is annoying and disrespectful to Jnr Pope. Jnr Pope was so young when he di*d and doesn’t deserved you putting on red dressing to his burial ceremony. The burial ceremony calls for a sober reflection and not a celebration party ground. You could have gone there putting on black or white dressing . I am disappointed though you are a good guy and I so much love watching your movies .I know you did this in an error and I know you will Change next time . One love bro.”
