Fans pay tribute to Dagrin at burial site 14 years after his tragic death


Fans of the late Nigerian rapper Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, popularly known as Dagrin, have converged at his burial site to honor his memory 14 years after his tragic passing.

Dagrin, who revolutionized the Nigerian music scene with his unique blend of Yoruba, English, and Pidgin English rap, left an indelible mark on the industry before his untimely passing.

The late rapper, renowned for hits such as “Pon Pon Pon” and “Kondo,” met his demise on April 22, 2010, at just 25 years old, following a fatal car accident in Lagos.

After colliding with a stationary truck near the Alakara Police Station in Mushin, Lagos, Dagrin slipped into a coma for eight agonizing days before succumbing to his injuries.

Fast forward 14 years, a group of devoted Nigerians, wearing custom-designed tops paying homage to the rap legend, made a pilgrimage to his resting place to honor his enduring legacy.

The emotional tribute was captured in poignant scenes as fans paid their respects, with many taking photographs beside Dagrin’s resting place.
