Nigerian filmmaker and actor, Nwafor Izuchukwu, better known as Izutech, ignited a firestorm on social media by fiercely questioning why his late friend, Junior Pope, was laid to rest in his father’s compound.
Junior Pope’s final farewell took place on Friday, May 17th, as colleagues, well-wishers, and notable figures from various spheres of life converged in large numbers to mourn alongside the late actor’s grieving family in Enugu state.
Izutech’s conspicuous absence at the funeral, despite his closeness to the family, stirred curiosity, prompting him to finally break his silence.
In a viral video exposé, he didn’t mince words, passionately recounting his pivotal role during Junior Pope’s boat mishap saga. He brazenly declared that many of the celebrities at the funeral didn’t help as much as he did during the accident.
Izutech boldly proclaimed that he stands apart from the crowd of insincere celebrities by refusing to fake affection. In a defiant tone, he asserted that his condolences to all the victims of the boat mishap were genuine and heartfelt, contrasting his actions with what he perceives as shallow displays of sympathy by others in the limelight.
With a raised eyebrow and a hint of incredulity, Izutech couldn’t help but express his astonishment at the decision to lay Junior Pope to rest in his father’s compound rather than the compound in his lavish mansion.
To him, the choice seemed utterly nonsensical, prompting questions about the underlying motives behind such a decision.
