Nollywood veteran actor Segun Arinze has opened up on the reasons behind his decision to step away from acting.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Segun Arinze shared insights into the factors that prompted him to take a hiatus from his illustrious acting career.
Reflecting on his journey in the entertainment industry, Arinze disclosed that he decided to stop his acting endeavors due to the detrimental impact of being typecast into roles portraying “bad boys.”
He expressed how this repetitive casting began to take a toll on his mental well-being, leading him to prioritize his mental health and step back from the limelight.
“There was a time I took a hiatus from acting when people were casting in that mold of bad boy, bad boy and it began to affect my psyche and all that,” Arinze said.
During the interview, Segun nArinze also addressed another significant aspect of his personal life – his divorce from actress Anne Njemanze.
Opening up on the experience for the first time publicly, Arinze shared insights into his journey.
“I stayed out of marriage after the first one collapsed. I stayed out for like 12 years before I remarried,” Segun Arinze added.
