Verydarkman remains in police custody as court fails to convene, Tunde Ednut reveals activist’s release date

Verydarkman's expected release from Police custody today didn't happen.

Nigerian activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman unfortunately didn’t secure bail from police custody today.

Barrister Street, a blog focused on political and court case news disclosed that the bail application for the outspoken social media activist has been postponed to Monday, June 3, 2024.

This delay came after the court failed to convene on Monday, May 27, leading to Verydarkman’s continued detention.

However, a conflicting update from Verydarkman’s close ally, blogger Tunde Ednut, has also emerged online. According to Ednut, Verydarkman will be released tomorrow, Thursday, May 30, contradicting the earlier reports about the bail hearing’s postponement.

The discrepancy between the reports from Barrister Street and Tunde Ednut has caused confusion regarding the actual status of Verydarkman’s release. As of now, it remains unclear whether the activist will be freed on May 30 or if he will have to wait until the new bail hearing date on June 3.
