James Brown visits Kirikiri prison to see Bobrisky

On Friday, June 7, the popular crossdresser James Chukwueze Obialor, known as James Brown, made a headline-grabbing visit to his controversial colleague Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos State.

James Brown, sharing a series of photos of the encounter on social media, revealed that he and his entourage met with prison officials to check up on Bobrisky.

The Princess of Africa also stirred up quite the buzz by arriving at the prison dressed in men’s attire.

Sharing pictures from his visit, James Brown wrote in a caption;

“I went to KIREKIRE PRISON to visit BOBRISKY to know if she alright.”

Bobrisky, in April 2024, was sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine for abusing the Nigerian currency – naira.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in her sentence, said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.

Before the sentence, the judge asked Bobrisky about his sex, and he quickly replied that he is a man.

He was subsequently sentenced to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

The judge in her ruling held that the jail term would commence on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

The court had on April 5, convicted him after he pleaded guilty to a 4 counts charge of abuse of the naira, made against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
