Why Flavour opted to bury his dad in Enugu instead of his hometown in Anambra – Cubana Chiefpriest laments

Burying loved ones in their hometown is a sacred ritual, a solemn homage to the rich tapestry of their origins, where every grain of soil whispers tales of their legacy. It's an embodiment of the unbreakable bond between individuals and the land that shaped their very essence, a testament to the indelible imprint of their upbringing and experiences. Yet, for Flavour, robbed of the chance to bid his father farewell in the ancestral embrace of Anambra, the compelled journey to Enugu for the final rites was a searing blow. In a soul-stirring disclosure, Cubana Chiefpriest peeled back the layers of grief to expose the raw pain of this departure from tradition.

Why Flavour opted to bury his dad in Enugu instead of his hometown in Anambra – Cubana Chiefpriest laments
  • Flavour recently bid a grand farewell to his father in Enugu, far from their ancestral home in Anambra, drawing a host of public figures to the event.
  • Cubana Chiefpriest took to social media to reveal the compelling reasons behind the singer’s last-minute decision to hold the burial in Enugu, citing unavoidable circumstances that necessitated the change in plans

Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, recently divulged that rampant insecurity was the driving force behind highlife sensation Flavour’s decision to conduct his father’s funeral rites in Enugu, rather than their native Anambra.

In a poignant Instagram post, Chief Priest, who was among the throng of prominent figures attending the solemn event on Saturday, lamented the security challenges plaguing the southeastern region.

He expressed his heartfelt appeal to all Southeasterners, urging them to unite in tackling the growing threat of insecurity that has disrupted their communities.

The celebrity barman, as he is fondly known, emphasized that people from the South East region must not destroy their homeland in response to marginalization.

Cubana Chief Priest passionately argued that succumbing to such actions only serves to fulfill the aims of those who seek to disorganize and destabilize the South East.

He wrote: “This amazing funeral was supposed to be happening in Umunze Anambra State but here we are in Enugu managing it. Umunne, we need to come together and fix this, it’s no longer interesting. We cannot destroy our own because we are being marginalised.

“We must uphold our glory by going back to our peaceful nature. We can only fight back if home is in order for proper planning. If this continues that means they have succeeded in disorganising us.
