Burna Boy has done more for Nigeria than our ambassadors – Alibaba

Alibaba applauds Burna Boy's alleged national impact over government ambassadors

Nigerian comedian Alibaba has commended Afrobeat star Burna Boy for promoting Nigeria’s global image, asserting that the singer has surpassed the efforts of our official ambassadors.

In an interview on Channels Television, Alibaba expressed his disappointment with the government’s oversight of the entertainment industry in economic planning.

He cited a forecast by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group that notably excluded the creative sector, pointing out its significant contribution to the nation’s economy and cultural identity.

“Two years ago, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group looked into a forecast of the Nigerian economy in the next five years, and the entertainment and creative industry was not considered,” Alibaba said.

“A booklet of about 200 pages was done and the creative industry was not considered. The value of the creative industry in Nigeria is beyond the country.

Highlighting Burna Boy’s influence, Alibaba asserted that the singer has done more to promote Nigeria on the world stage than any ambassador assigned to international posts.

He praised Nigerian artists for their pivotal role in shaping and sharing the nation’s cultural identity globally.

“Burna Boy has done a lot more for Nigerian national awareness than any ambassador that has been posted to America, the UK, or any other place. So Nigerian artistes are creating national awareness and making other countries know about us than any ambassador would have done,” he added.
