How my elder sister body-shamed me while pregnant – BBNaija’s Frodd’s wife [VIDEO]

BBNaija’s Frodd’s wife, Chioma has opened up on her pregnancy and postpartum journey.
The pharmacist who welcomed a baby in August 2023 spoke on being body-shamed.
Chioma who revealed her sister’s hurtful words made sure she didn’t get weighed down by it.

Chioma, a pharmacist and wife of former BBNaija housemate, Chukwuemeka Okoye better known as Frodd has opened up on how she was body shamed during her pregnancy.

In an interview with BBNaija star turned podcaster, Maria Chike on her Mums Next Door show, Chioma revealed that her elder sister body shamed her and it was very hurtful for her.

According to the mother of one, her sister told her she has “water body” (slang for someone who has the tendency to become fat easily), hence, she should reduce her the amount of food she takes daily.

Because of her sister’s hurtful words, Chioma promised not to lose herself and was able to snap back postpartum.

Frodd’s wife further opened up on her postpartum struggles, revealing that after she gave birth, she wanted to be on her own, was always crying and found it difficult to bond with her baby.

Chioma said:

“I have been body shamed before and that’s was when I was pregnant. It was a personal stuff between me and my elder sister.

I think it is important we talk about it because I hated it.

My sister told me that I had water body (someone who can get fat easily) so I should watch whatever I am eating. She said I would have a big bum and would blow (up) very soon.

Because of those things she said I promised to show her Shege, that I would give birth and not be fat.

After I gave birth, I wanted to be on my own, I was always crying and found it difficult to bond with my baby”.
