Distinguished members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, recently gathered at the iconic National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, for a heartfelt joint night of tributes dedicated to their esteemed late colleagues: John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, Amaechi Munagor, and Zulu Adigwe.
The solemn proceedings commenced with a poignant candlelight procession, which commenced from Marshal roundabout in Surulere at approximately 5pm, winded its way gracefully to the hallowed grounds of the National Stadium Surulere.
The atmosphere was laden with reverence as fellow actors, including movie stars like Kenneth Okonkwo, Emeka Rollas, Zack Orji, Desmond Elliot, Victor Osuagwu, and many others, came together to honor the legacies of their departed friends in a gathering that quickly became a trending sensation across social media.
In a poignant viral video capturing the essence of the evening, the presence of Mr Ibu’s grieving wife and children added a deeply personal touch to the event.

Mr Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, after battling with ill health for some time.
The family of the late veteran actor revealed that Mr Ibu will be buried on June 28, 2024, in his hometown of Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Amaechi Munagor died on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 67, after suffering from protracted kidney-related issues, diabetes, and stroke.
Amaechi’s family announced he would be buried in his hometown in Ugamuma village, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on June 21, 2024.
Zulu Adigwe, on the other hand, was laid to rest in Abuja on Wednesday, May 29, following his passing on the evening of Tuesday, April 23.
