Today, the family of Amaechi Muonagor confronted the most cruel and final fate of parting with a cherished loved one, as they tearfully said goodbye, painfully watch him lowered into the ground as he finds his eternal rest in his hometown of Anambra. The poignant moment was a stark awakening, a sobering reminder of life's fleeting nature. Peter Obi, once a governor of the state, was among the dignitaries who paid their last respects, alongside some of Amaechi's colleagues from the entertainment fraternity. The funeral of the late veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away on March 24, 2024, following complications from kidney failure and dialysis, took place on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Videos from the ceremony have surfaced on social media, capturing poignant moments of the event.

He was buried in his hometown in Ugamuma village, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Anambra politician Peter Obi was a prominent figure at the ceremony, attracting attention among the attendees. His presence included a heartfelt interaction with the bereaved family members, that emphasized his solidarity and support during their time of loss.

This is coming shortly after distinguished members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) gathered at the iconic National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, for a poignant joint night of tributes dedicated to Amaechi Muonagor and other esteemed late colleagues John Okafor (Mr Ibu) and Zulu Adigwe.

The proceedings began with a moving candlelight procession, commencing from Marshal roundabout in Surulere around 5pm, elegantly making its way to the revered grounds of the National Stadium Surulere.
