Why I’m no longer close to Eniola Badmus, others – Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele opens up on strained friendships

Nigerian filmmaker cum movie actress, Funke Akindele, has cleared the air on maintaining friendships in the make-believe industry.

The mother of two and box office queen in an interview with Arise TV shed light on her relationship with colleagues like Eniola Badmus and others.

Quizzed on how she has been able to manage friendship and relationships alongside her growing fame, Funke Akindele stated that she has never had serious friends aside her siblings.

She added that contrary to popular belief, when she is not working, she likes staying indoor with her kids and family, having fun and seeing movies.

In Funke Akindele’s words:

“Friendship? I think my siblings are my friends. They are my friends. I have acquaintances, people that I’m cordial with, but not serious friendships like that. Because I’m always busy working. And when I’m not working, I’m sleeping, chilling with the kids, watching a movie, chilling with the family.

I like being in my space. I don’t really like going to parties, I’m not a party animal. I don’t like it at all. I run a studio, we film every year – we have content on Youtube, movies at cinemas and on streaming platforms. I’m very busy. So I just get busy with work and my children, because I need to give them time. So when I’m not working, I’m with my children. I’m in my space.

In the industry, I have cordial relationships with people in the industry. I love working with some particular people. I work with all my colleagues, but there are some that are so dear to my heart. I have a team, my crew members. And for my colleagues, I have cordial relationship with everybody.”
