Toke Makinwa Responds to Troll's Comment on Her Marital Status


Media personality and actress Toke Makinwa recently engaged with a social media user who commented on her marital status.

The exchange started when Toke shared her thoughts on the pressure faced by single women, including herself, in a recent post.

The social media user, Nelson Oluu had remarked that Toke has transitioned from being single to being unmarried.

You have passed the single era, you are now unmarried,” he stated

Toke in reaction, expressed her confidence in her future and assuring the troll that he will witness her transformation into a lawfully wedded wife.

She wrote, “God will do my own and you’ll be alive to congratulate me. Happy Sunday o”.

In a subsequent tweet, Toke stated that she had considered responding more strongly but chose to take the high road, opting for a message of love and light instead.

“If I curse am now, you’ll say I’m mean. Love n light,” she added.

In another story, Toke Makinwa reveals why D’banj sternly warned him against celebrating her 40th birthday.

In the same interview, presenter IK Osakioduwa who spoke about his own marriage and splitting bills gave Toke Makinwa some words of encouragement as a 45 year old.

Toke Makinwa said:

D’Banj called me and said “Don’t do birthday o! You know this industry. Did I do my birthday? Did Don Jazzy do his birthday? Who shouted when they were 40? Don’t do any birthday o! They will retire you.” I was like “Dapo, what do you mean?” [laughs].

“When I fill forms these days, you know when we were so excited to fill between 18 and 25, we tick fast.
