“If them never kee one blogger, others no go…” – Nkechi Blessing, others fume over Olu Jacobs death rumours

Celebrities rage over rumours about veteran actor, Olu Jacobs' death

Famous movie stars, Kate Henshaw, Nkechi Blessing, and Empress Njamah have condemned the swift outbreak of false death rumours about veteran actor Olu Jacobs on social media.

The actresses expressed their disappointment and frustration over the insensitive behaviour of some Nigerians, who spread the false news without verifying its authenticity.

Nkechi Blessing questioned the source of such behaviour, wondering who taught Nigerians to spread false news so quickly. She noted that if one blogger doesn’t lose his/her life due to the dissemination of false news, others wouldn’t have sense.

“Person never kpai see speed wey una use break d news, if Dem never kee one blogger the rest no go get sense. Who do Nigerians this thing? God forbid!” She wrote.

Still on the issue, Empress Njamah described the spread of the false news as the height of disrespect to the family and the actor, calling it evil and heartless. She admonished those responsible to fear God and desist from such behaviour.

In her words:

“HEIGHT OF DISRESPECT TO THE FAMILY AND TO A LEGEND..HOW EVIL CAN YOU BE? FEAR GOD OHH,MY HEART WAS PIERCED,JUST FOR CLOUT AND FOLLOWINGS?LETS NOT USE OUR OWN HANDS TO BRING CURSES UPON OURSELVES
Daddy OLU we love you and appreciate you now and always ,this is terrible and heartless ,shame on whoever started this nonsense

MAKE UNA FEAR GOD OHHHH, very toxic social media”.

Kate Henshaw also lamented the yearly recurrence of such behaviour, where people post R.I.P messages for living individuals. She described it as sickening and all shades of wrong, urging those responsible to stop.

She wrote:

“HOW YOU PEOPLE PUT UP
RIP POSTS ABOUT SOMEONE WHO IS STILL ALIVE, YEAR IN YEAR OUT IS VERY SICKENING, TBH!!!
You do this to this great man and his family ALL THE TIME!!
It is all shades of wrong!!
Stop for goodness sake!!
