Talent manager and politician, Ubi Franklin recently responded to a troll who mocked his close relationship with singer Davido’s family.
During a question and answer session, the troll asked why Ubi was playing the role of a nanny to Davido and his wife, implying that it was shameful.
The troll wrote:
“Why are you a nanny? You know they shame?”
Ubi replied, offering to help the troll get hired by Davido, and suggesting that the troll was jealous of his connection to the family.
He wrote:
“I know say you wan collect this work; no worry, send me a DM, make I help you make them hire you.
Why you dey beef naw, Oya come collect the work of.
I no go block you; I go dey pepper you dey go”.
Another troll questioned Ubi’s obsession with the Adeleke family, asking why he wasn’t focused on his own family instead. Ubi responded by explaining that his priority is always his own family, and that his closeness to the Adelekes is an extension of that value. He emphasized that in his culture, family comes first, and that the Adelekes are like family to him.
Ubi passionately defended his relationships, stating that showing love and support for his friends and family is not something to be ashamed of.
He expressed his frustration at the negativity and encouraged the trolls to focus on finding their own positive relationships rather than criticizing his.
In his words:
“If I weren’t obsessed with my own family, you would not see that I’m obsessed with another person. Where I come from, we take care of home before we go outside. It’s family first, and the Adelekes are my family, so we do family first.
In the world today, we just need healing because someone shows love to his friends, and it’s a big problem; go and find someone to be obsessed. Leave me with my friends and my family alone, please”.
