Veteran movie actor Olu Jacobs has turned 82, 2 weeks after he was rumoured dead on social media.

His actress wife Ajoke Silva took to the photo and video sharing platform to write a tribute to him to celebrate the milestone.In the early hours of Thursday, July 11, Joke Silva shared a video on Instagram which captured her husband during his youthful days as well as newer versions. The video also showed him admiring his house coat.

Joke Silva ecstatically prayed for her husband that he would continue to enjoy good health. She wrote:

“82 just like that. Agba ko ni nira l’agbara Jesu…Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead me darling… Sir J of life 😉 @_olujacobs (loving his customized house coat …thanks a mill @thegardentheatre Tosin Otudeko).”

On June 30, Olu Jacobs was rumoured dead on social media.

The family however released videos to debunk the rumour.

That was the second time rumours about the death of the ace Nigerian actor and film executive, whose real name is Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, will be making rounds on social media.

In August 2022, rumours went round on social media that Olu Jacobs was dead.

Reacting to the news, Silva took to her Instagram Story to debunk such reports and rumours, saying that her husband is not dead but hail and hearty.

She went further to threaten legal action against peddlers of fake news on incessant rumours of Jacobs’ death.

Olu Jacobs took a break from the movie and public scene due to his health that is fast deteriorating. The actor is battling with Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), also known as Lewy body dementia, one of the most common types of dementia, according to UK NHS.

Fondly called Uncle Olu by his colleagues and teeming admirers, Olu Jacobs has made his mark in the Nigeria’s movie industry.
