Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has revealed that his wife’s allowance is the most challenging thing he has to endure in their marriage.
Seun Kuti recently sat with his wife Yetunde for an interview on Pulse Fun Facts, where they playfully discussed their marriage and relationship.
When asked about the most challenging aspect of their relationship, Seun jokingly revealed that it’s managing his wife’s high monthly allowance.
Yetunde’s allowance, which Seun humorously described as “seven figures every month,” has become a lighthearted point of contention in their marriage.
Seun laughed as he shared how he struggles to keep up with her expensive taste, jokingly implying that he must have been “under duress” during their negotiations.
“Her allowance is very high—seven figures every month, I’m not joking, her allowance is very high and she has a high taste. That’s challenging because I have to work for the money and it’s not easy. It’s very, very high. I don’t know how we negotiated it; I must have been under duress during negotiations” he said
When asked if he has any regrets in their marriage, Seun emphasized that he doesn’t believe in regrets and therefore has none.
He stressed that he doesn’t dwell on past decisions and instead focuses on the present.
Yetunde asked, “Have you had any regrets since we got married?”
Seun asserted, “I don’t do regrets; I don’t regret anything in my life so I cannot regret anything in our marriage. I don’t do regrets; regret is for the weak.”
Their playful banter continued as Yetunde expressed gratitude for their marriage, daughter, and even their romantic relationship.
“I’m grateful for him, grateful for our daughter; what else?”
Seun jokingly interjected, inquiring if she was grateful for the “sex” as well, to which she laughed and acknowledged.
“I’m grateful for the sex as well; I almost forgot that part because I didn’t know that we were supposed to talk about that here,” Yetunde responded.
Finally, when asked what he would change about their marriage, Seun humorously requested that the ancestors grant Yetunde more height, as their ten-year-old daughter is almost as tall as her. He also jokingly added that he’d like to see a change in her outspoken nature.
“I would ask the ancestors to give her more height; the Lord should help her and help me raise her up a bit. Our daughter is almost taller than her and she’s only ten years old. That’s the only thing I think they should change. And oh, her mouth!”.
