Nigerian filmmaker cum movie actress, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi was taken aback after some Corp members in Oyo town stormed her movie set to show support for her.
In videos making rounds online, the movie star was captured riding a horse as she approached the corp members, who were visibly excited to see her.
According to reports online, the corp members had visited Toyin Abraham to show solidarity with the actress following the criticism that has trailed her person for months, and most recently hours ago. See post below:
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Abraham was under fire for arresting one of her trolls and leaving him in police custody for some time. One of the trolls had accused the actress of detaining his mother, a claim the actress denied vehemently.
Following this, some aggrieved netizens reported her to the streaming platform Netflix for her movies to be taken down. Netizens urged the streaming platform to boycott her movies and take a firm stance against her behaviour.
Many of her colleagues however showed support for her. Taking the lead, veteran actor, Saidi Balogun slammed those trolling her, calling them out for double standards. Saidi described their behaviour as emotional blackmail.
Biola Bayo stated that she tried to contact Toyin several times to no avail. The mother of one prayed that God would stand by and strengthen Toyin Abraham.
Alesh Sanni opined that some Nigerians are bitter and frustrated recalling how trolls bullied Toyin to the extent of cursing her child and instigating death on a young, innocent soul, and yet when she arrested him, she was attacked.
Afeez Owo reshared Yinka Quadri’s post urging all actors to unite and take a stance against bullying, noting how emotional blackmail is no joke.
Allwell Ademola, on her part mentioned the double standards on social media. She stated that sometimes she wonders why it is okay to bully celebrities, but when they react, they are being tagged as petty and bullies.
Sharing a photo of himself and Toyin Abraham, Muyiwa Ademola on his part asked his colleague to stay strong.
He added that he wouldn’t take things lying down either, if anyone who trolls his kids.
