Appreciating the award organisers, she expressed her gratitude to them, stating that she felt humbled by the achievement.

Sharing moments from the event, Iyabo wrote:

“Yesterday, I got an Eko Leadership award for youth and empowerment, proudly organised by @ekoheritageawards …. Thank you so much to the organisers; I’m grateful and humbled”.

Toyin Adewale, Biodun Okeowo, May Edochie, Itele, Tayo Adeniyi, Kazim Adeoti and others congratulated her while noting that she deserved it.

The Leadership award is coming amid Iyabo Ojo’s messy fight with Very Dark Man, which was reignited after he shaded Iyabo Ojo, claiming that she didn’t get an invite to Davido’s main wedding. VDM also inferred that she was only invited to the after party, just like every other influencer. Iyabo had hit back with proof of her invitation, and the two clashed on social media.

Defending her, the Managing Director of TVC, Morayo Afolabi Brown, had sent her a public note, sending her love and reassurance. She noted how people like her see Iyabo as a woman with noble intentions whose actions have been misconstrued.

Actor Ibrahim Chatta also praised Iyabo, calling her a superwoman, which didn’t sit well with many.

Actress Wumi Toriola celebrated Iyabo Ojo’s resilience and achievements, calling her a brave, tender and fierce personality clothed in strength and dignity.
