- Sabinus has reacted to his father’s release after he was kidnapped.
- The skit maker’s father was held to ransom, which was paid before his release according to the former.
- Sabinus showing gratitude, made a light hearted comment about the incident.
Nigerian comedian and skit-maker, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has spoken on the abduction of his father, Pa Ejekwu in Rivers State.
It was reported that gunmen abducted Sabinus’ father on Wednesday and a security operative was reportedly killed in the process.
Reacting to the incident in a light post on Instagram Story, Sabinus disclosed that ransom was paid to secure his freedom from the kidnappers.
The content creator who appreciated God for the release of his father, noted that the kidnappers could still watch his comedy skits and laugh over it.
He said;
“Kidnappers who kidnapped my father could still watch my content and laugh; life is like that. But we thank God for providing it; otherwise, I would have been so sorry. Thank you, Lord.”
In a similar story, former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel earlier revealed that he paid “an outrageous amount of money” to secure his father, Pa Michael’s release from kidnappers den in 2018.
He narrated how a family member called to tell him that he had to contact the kidnappers on a designated number, which he did and subsequently got ordered to pay a ransom.
The ex-Chelsea midfielfielder further explained that although he was distraught by the news, he had to put it aside and play the match.
Mikel said in part:
“I was told that they would shoot my dad instantly if I reported to the authorities or told anybody. I also did not want to discuss it with the coach [Gernot Rohr] because I did not want my issue to become a distraction to him or the rest of the team on the day of such an important game. As much as I wanted to discuss it with the coach, I could not.
“It was horrible. After the game, I got back on the phone, tried to negotiate with them and spoke with them. They were calling some ridiculous amount of money for a start, and in the end, I still had to pay some craazy amount of money to get my dad out.”
