A recent torrential rainstorm hit Toronto, causing significant flooding and power outages across the city.
The heavy rainfall, which exceeded the average monthly rainfall for July, resulted in flooding in various areas, including the home of Canadian rapper Drake.
Drake shared a video on social media platform showing the flooding at his Toronto mansion, known as The Embassy.
The footage revealed water filling the floors of several rooms, with a person, presumably Drake, attempting to hold back the water with a broom.
The extreme weather event led to power outages affecting over 167,000 homes, with many areas experiencing difficulties.
The city of Toronto urged residents to report any basement flooding and exercise caution when cleaning up.
David Phillips, a senior climatologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada told BBC that “This is the new reality. It used to be river flooding but now it is urban flooding.”
