- Falz has revealed how he met Simi ten years ago.
- Speaking in a recent interview he had with Hip TV, the rapper restated that their relationship has always been platonic.
Nigerian multitalented entertainer Folarin Falana better known as Falz the Badh Guy has opened up on how he met songstress, Simisola Kosoko simply known as Simi.
The rapper said they met at around 2013 and it was majorly because he wanted a music collaboration.
It may be recalled that Simi and Falz sparked dating rumours after releasing a joint EP titled “Chemistry” in 2016.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Falz clarified that their relationship was purely work related despite the misconception of being more than friends.
He recounted how he reached out to Simi after hearing her breakthrough song “Jamb Question” and their musical chemistry led to future collaborations.
In Falz’ words:
“I met Simi 2013 or 2014. I reached out to her first time I heard ‘Jamb Question’ to let her know I’ve written a verse for the remix that we’ve not yet discussed.
“And we went on to do it, shot the video and from then onwards, every other track was so natural. She’s family, we really really clicked musically and we just had to really explore that. It was beautiful.”
The interview comes over a week after Falz was spotted with his long-time friend, Simi Kososko. In the video shared on Instagram through Falz’s official page, the duo sat by a table while they switched the latter’s lensless glasses playfully.
Although the clip had no audio, it was obvious that both artistes were being playful, which ignited some comments from spectators.
Before now, many had assumed that Falz and Simi would end up together as a couple, but their hopes were dashed when Adekunle Gold came along.
