Dakore Akande files ‘cease and desist’ notice to Gistlover over claims of being Akpabio’s ‘side chic’

Akpabio: Dakore Akande threatens legal action against Gistlover

Actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has issued a cease-and-desist notice against controversial blogger Gistlover.

On Tuesday, the actress shared pages of the legal document filed by her lawyers at Olisa Agbakoba’s law firm on her Instagram page.

The document signed by the firm’s partner and head of sports, entertainment and technology practice Beverley Agbakoba-Onyejianya reads in part:

“We act as legal representatives for Mrs. Dakore Egbuson Akande (‘our client’) and write regarding the subject matter aforementioned.

“This letter serves as a formal cease and desist notice demanding that you (Gistlover) immediately remove the incriminating post containing a picture of our client falsely connecting her to the Senate President of Nigeria; Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, as well as the false remarks on Instagram.

“Let it be on record that our client is happily married to Mr. Akande and has been for many years, earns an honest living as an actor personality and has never met the said Senate President in person.”

The firm warned the blogger to remove the controversial post on social media within 24 hours of receiving the notice to cease and desist or face legal action.

This legal move follows a viral report by Gistlover on Sunday which listed female celebrities allegedly involved in romantic affairs with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Among the names listed as the lawmaker’s lovers, known locally as side chics were Dakore, prompting her to address the accusations directly in a video posted to her Instagram page on Monday.

Other celebrities named in the report included Ini Edo, Nancy Isime, Hilda Baci, Nwanneka Nkumah, and Nnadi Shontel.
