- In reaction, Kcee strongly affirmed that he sought Mike Ejeagha’s consent and did the necessary paperwork in 2018 before embarking on the music project.
Nigerian singer, Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee has addressed misconceptions about him sampling Highlife legend, Mike Ejeagha’s song without his consent.
In the face of the Gwoo Gwo Gwo Ngwoo trend, Kcee took to his IG page where he posted a snippet of a song he made which apparently borrowed lines from the now-viral old track.
Sharing the video, he wrote:
“I say make I go buy 1 small bag, I come here dem dey play gwangwangwangwa 😂😂 @brainjotter come carry your people 🤣🕺🕺🕺🕺🤣🤣🤣.”

Reacting swiftly, netizens descended on the singer accusing him of sampling Ejeagha’s song without doing the needful.
Kcee in a bid to clear his name made another post where he shared a video that captured the moment he and his team visited Mike Ejeagha in 2018.
He affirmed that he got the consent of the veteran singer before using his intellectual property and every paperwork was duly done.’
