Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Brain Jotter, paid a heartfelt visit to legendary folklore musician, Gentleman Mike Ejeagha, in his hometown in Enugu state.
The visit was a gesture of appreciation and recognition for Ejeagha’s timeless highlife song, “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo,” which Brain Jotter had recently revived interest in through his content.
Upon arrival, Ejeagha was overcome with emotion, bursting into tears at the sight of Brain Jotter and his team in his sitting room. The veteran musician was clearly touched by the renewed attention to his work and the kind gesture of the young comedian.
Brain Jotter presented Ejeagha with a cash transfer of N2 million, explaining that he hadn’t profited from the dance content featuring the traditional song. He emphasized that his intention was solely to show appreciation and recognition for Ejeagha’s craft.
One of Ejeagha’s kinsmen spoke on behalf of the family, highlighting the significant impact Brain Jotter’s challenge had on the old track over 40 years after its release. The song had gained new life and popularity among younger generations, thanks to the comedian’s efforts.
As Brain Jotter and his team prepared to leave, Ejeagha was overcome with emotion once again, bidding them farewell with tears in his eyes. The content creator also shared a few personal photographs with the legendary musician, creating a moment of warmth and connection between the two.
