- Aside from being a talented singer, Teni has found a way to send her fans and colleagues into bouts of laughter at intervals.
- She revealed that she was in the United Kingdom and warned about the high rate of insecurity in the area.
- The music star was advised to hire a bouncer, and she stated that the charges were quite expensive and she couldn’t throw away her money like that, besides God is her shepherd.
Singer Teniola Apata, aka Teni, was in a gleeful mood as she shared why she could not take the advice of getting a bodyguard in the United Kingdom.
Teni expressed her reliance on her faith in God rather than hiring an expensive bouncer during her stay in the UK.
The singer on Tuesday took to her Instagram page to share her reasons for opting out of the pricey security service.
She revealed that hiring a bouncer would cost her £500 per day, approximately ₦1 million using the conversion rate of ₦2,090 per pound.
“Bouncer wey I wan collect wey dem tell me say na £500 per day. You know how much be £500?” Teni said before calculating the hefty amount.
The singer remarked that if she gave that amount to one of her aunties, the woman would become her personal soldier.
Teni emphasised that she didn’t see herself as a high-risk individual like Osama Bin Laden, warranting such expensive protection. She said in Pidgin English:
“Which kian work you dey do wey you wan dey bouncer me for ₦1 million a day? How many days you think sey I wan spend for here?
“If I give my Aunty that money gan, Aunty Kehinde. Aunty Kehinde go turn army. Shey na me be Osama Bin Laden wey dem dey find?”
Teni further declared her faith, stating that the Lord is her shepherd and she believes God will protect her wherever she goes. She added:
“The Lord is my shepherd, God don tell me sey na him be my shepherd. No shepherd fit shepherd me pass God. Make una no worry.”
Teni on Monday said that on arriving in the UK, she was warned that her luxury necklace could be stolen and that there were stabbers around town.
This led her fans to advise her to get a bouncer, prompting her to share the cost involved and her reasons for declining.
