Nigerian businesswoman Sandra Iheuwa responded to a lady’s TikTok video by a user named @sephorastar_, who expressed strong opinions against baby mamas.
The lady’s video has sparked widespread reactions for its disparaging remarks about women who have children outside of marriage.
In her TikTok post, @sephorastar_ declared her disdain for baby mamas.
In her words:
“I cannot be friends with baby mamas; I can never respect you. I will always question you like, ‘When are you gonna be married?’ So, why didn’t you get married before having your baby? We can never be friends if you don’t have a ring on your finger but have a baby.”
Her comments, suggesting that women should be married before having children, ignited a backlash from various quarters.
Sandra Iheuwa, a notable Nigerian entrepreneur and public figure, took to social media to address the controversial statements.
Sandra Iheuwa, who herself has been through a complex personal journey involving marriage, separation, and motherhood, shared her perspective on the matter.
In her response, she highlighted the unpredictable nature of life and the potential judgmental attitudes that people may harbor towards single mothers.
“I was an ex-wife, then a baby mama, and then an ex-wife again… Life can humble you unless you are avoiding being a baby mama by having countless abortions. You are still a baby mama spiritually 😂,” Iheuwa said.
It is worth noting that Sandra Iheuwa is a mother to a child with Ubi Franklin, a prominent talent manager in Nigeria.
