- Sandra Iheuwa revealed that the police had stormed her office under the pretence that the DPO wanted to ask some questions and had detained her staff illegally.
- She stated that her corporate lawyers had contacted the DPO, but they are being faced with resistance.
Sandra Iheuwa has publicly spoken out against the actions of Ibadan police, expressing her concern over the illegal detention and alleged sexual assault of her staff members.
The businesswoman and Ubi Franklin’s baby mama, took to Instagram to share her frustration, stating that she had tried to handle the situation quietly but felt compelled to speak out as the situation became increasingly difficult to bear.
According to Sandra, the police had entered her office under false pretenses and detained her staff members without any valid reason. Despite efforts by her legal team to address the issue, they were met with resistance.
Sandra also claimed that her employees were suffering from harassment while in custody.
She urged anyone in a position to help to intervene and ensure the immediate release of her staff, emphasizing the impact that this unjust situation has had on people simply trying to make a living.
She wrote:
“I’ve been quiet enough and tried to handle this privately, but the situation has escalated beyond what I can bear. The Orita Police in Ibadan have detained my staff illegally without an invitation or any crime committed. They entered my office under the pretence that the DPO merely wanted to ask some questions, and now my employees are being held without any legitimate reason.
My corporate lawyer has reached out to the DPO, but we are facing nothing but resistance. To make matters worse, my staff members are currently being sexually harassed. This is an outright abuse of power, and it’s happening to hardworking women who are simply trying to earn a living and support their families.
In doing this, the Orita Police have violated the fundamental human rights of my employees, particularly their rights to personal liberty and dignity of human persons as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution. This is not just a personal issue; it’s a call for justice against intimidation and the misuse of police authority.
I am pleading with everyone who sees this message to help me bring attention to this injustice. We need the DPO or anyone in a position to assist to step in and ensure the immediate release of my staff. The country is already hard enough; why make it harder for those who are trying to survive?
Please share this message and help us fight against this abuse of power. We need your support now more than ever”.
