- Verydarkman accused Tinubu’s daughter of overlooking the severe economic challenges Nigerians are facing under her father’s administration.
- This was after she pleaded with Nigerians to give his father time, advising against participating in the upcoming hunger protest scheduled from August 1 to 10.
Social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has shared his thoughts on Folashade Tinubu’s recent statement regarding the upcoming protest.
Folashade, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, had in a recent statement, urged Nigerians to give her father’s administration three years before evaluating its performance.
VeryDarkMan in reaction, expressed disagreement with Folashade’s remarks, highlighting the economic challenges faced by Nigerians under the current administration.
He pointed out the significant rise in fuel prices and economic hardship during the administration’s first year.
VeryDarkMan encouraged Folashade to advise her father to address the growing economic concerns and avoid exacerbating the situation.
He also referenced President Tinubu’s past opposition to fuel price increases during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, suggesting that similar protests are warranted now due to current economic policies.
While condemning potential violence, VeryDarkMan emphasized the importance of standing up for economic rights and encouraged peaceful protest.
He urged Nigerians to express their concerns peacefully and responsibly during protests, emphasizing the impact of rising costs and scarcity of goods such as fuel in the current economic climate.
“Warn your father, tell him that Nigerians are suffering. Talk to Daddy for us. Did you warn your dad when he went to protest against Goodluck Jonathan when he raised the fuel price from N65 to N87? The only thing I won’t approve of is that the protesters are violent. Stand for your rights, Nigerians.
“Protest, but don’t loot. Look at the prices of things. Fuel is N700 plus, and it is still not available. See the queues in gas stations. You can’t increase the price of things, and they will still not be available,” he said
