Nigerian music sensation Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has opened up on her approach to handling criticism and negativity.
In an interview with Dose Society, the “Bloody Samaritan” coroner shared her unique perspective on remaining unaffected by critics.
Ayra Starr, known for her bold public persona and unyielding confidence, offered insight into her mindset regarding criticism.
She suggested that many critics are often preoccupied with their own personal struggles, such as poverty and depression, which can cloud their ability to provide constructive feedback.
In the interview, Ayra Starr said:
“What matters less? I think opinions and people’s perceptions of you doesn’t [matter].
“Trust me, people are living their lives. Everybody is busy. People are hungry. Stop caring and stop thinking what people are thinking about you. People are hungry, tired. Life is hard. Just do you.
“Sometimes, you’re there overthinking, ‘what does this person think about me?’ Then, they’re just like, ‘what’s gonna happen today? Am I gonna make it home?’
“There’s a lot happening in the world, and if you spend your time thinking about what people think about you, you’re just gonna waste time. Do you, find yourself. Be confident in yourself. Don’t care about the outcome. Just do. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you want to but when you get it right, you’re going to be so proud of yourself.”
