Falz Expresses Concern Over President Tinubu's Response to Protests

Nigerian singer and rapper Falz has shared his thoughts on the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance.

As the protests enter its’ second day, Falz used social media platform X to question President Tinubu’s silence on the matter.

He wondered why it’s challenging for leaders to show empathy and asked how long the president plans to ignore the people’s concerns before the situation escalates.

Falz highlighted the need for humane leadership and urged the president to acknowledge the protests rather than dismissing them as politically motivated.

In his words:

Genuinely don’t know why it’s so difficult to be humane. They say make you leave am, you no gree. Say na your birthright. You can’t now turn a deaf ear. You tried to make it look like the protests were “politically motivated”. Shebi una don see now? How long do you think you can keep on pushing the people back before it blows up in your face ?”

Recall that Burna Boy handed over ‘African Giant’ title to Falz amid backlash over stance on ongoing protest.

The singer’s decision to dissociate himself from the protests was prompted by the incident that occurred on October 20th 2020 during the EndSARS protest.

In response to one of Burna Boy’s posts, a social media user, @jr_barryy, criticized him for hiding behind his “African Giant” moniker and failing to live up to it by active activism.

The X user’s comment read: “Because you wan ghost and you de call yourself African giant.”

Burna Boy swiftly responded, announcing that he had passed the torch to Falz, saying: “I don hand am over to Falz bros.”
