- DJ Switch, challenged Wike and Dokubo to appear in public and confront the protesters if they were not afraid.
- She noted that the only solution to the people’s hunger is food and not violence or threats.
Nigerian DJ and activist Obianuju Catherine, popularly known as DJ Switch, has addressed recent statements made by Minister Nyesom Wike and former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo regarding the ongoing ‘EndBadGovernance’ protests.
The protests, which began on August 1, aim to highlight Nigeria’s economic challenges.
Wike and Dokubo had previously warned against bringing the protests to their respective regions, citing concerns about property destruction and agendas.
DJ Switch, a key organizer of the 2020 EndSARS protests, challenged Wike and Dokubo to confront the protesters in public.
She emphasized that the solution to hunger is food, not violence or threats.
“The only thing that can stop HUNGER is FOOD! Not guns, teargas, or threats from fat globs like Asari Dokubo and chicken feed Wike! I wonder why they are hiding now. Come outside let them eat you raw,” her tweet read
In another news, singer Simi joins nationwide protests, vows to stand against bad governance.
In her words;
“I will ALWAYS stand with my people #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
This show of support by Simi comes amid ongoing clashes between celebrities and online users who question their commitment to advocating for social change.
