The remains of the veteran Nigerian singer Onyeka Onwenu popularly referred to as Elegant Stallion have been moved from the Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she was pronounced dead.
The Elegant Stallion, celebrated for her powerful voice and activism, reportedly passed away on the night of July 30.
The news of her death broke after she collapsed at the 80th birthday celebration of Mrs. Stella Okoli, where she had recently performed.
Emergency medical services rushed her to the hospital, but efforts to save her were unsuccessful. Viral footage from NTA, shared on social media, shows a black ambulance departing the hospital.
In the video, voices can be heard indicating that the vehicle was carrying the remains of the iconic singer.
