South African singer Tyla has expressed her disapproval of the treatment of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a former Miss South Africa finalist.
Chidimma Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, faced scrutiny over her nationality and recently withdrew from the competition.
Tyla in reaction , believes Adetshina was bullied out of the contest and has spoken out against such behavior.
She shared a report of Adetshina’s withdrawal and offered support, stating:
“Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best girl. Kill it!”
Tyla emphasized her stance against bullying, she said, “I will always stand with South Africa, i just feel regardless of the opinions… She was bullied and that’s what I don’t stand for.”
In a show of solidarity and support, Miss Universe Nigeria extended an invitation to Adetshina to compete in their 2024 pageant.
The organization issued a statement on Friday, August 9, encouraging Adetshina to return to Nigeria and represent her father’s homeland.
