- South Africans drags Tyla over her support for Nigerian beauty Queen, Adetshina
- Tyla had defended and condemned South Africans for bullying Adetshina, stating that even though she will always stand with South Africa, she will always advocate against bullying.
South African singer Tyla has faced criticism from her people for defending Chidimma Adetshina, a Nigerian model who withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition.
Recall that Adetshina’s participation was controversial due to questions surrounding her citizenship.
An investigation by the South African Home Affairs department found potential identity theft involving Adetshina’s mother, hence making her to withdraw from the competition.
Tyla in reaction, expressed support for Adetshina on Twitter, stating she condemns bullying.
“Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best, girl. Kill it.
I will always stand with South Africans, I just feel regardless of the opinions. She was bullied, and that’s what I don’t stand for” She wrote.
However, her comments were met with disapproval from South Africans, who criticized her in the comment section.
