Chidimma Adetshina Accepts Invitation to Participate in Miss Universe Nigeria 2024


Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.

This comes after her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest due to questions surrounding her nationality.

Adetshina was invited to join the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant following her departure from the South African competition, where she was a Top 11 Finalist.

She had stepped down amid allegations by the South African Department of Home Affairs regarding her mother’s potential involvement in fraud and identity theft.

However, In a recent video, Adetshina confirmed her acceptance of the invitation, expressing her enthusiasm for participating in the prestigious pageant.

“I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant… I am looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe Nigeria,” she said.

Following Adetshina withdrawal from the competition, Singer Tyla condemned his fellow South Africans for bullying the finalist.

She wrote:

Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best girl. Kill it!”

Tyla emphasized her stance against bullying, she said, “I will always stand with South Africa, i just feel regardless of the opinions… She was bullied and that’s what I don’t stand for.”

Tyla’s post was met with a lot of negative reactions from South Africans
