Renowned American rapper and producer Justin Riley, known professionally as BeatKing, has passed away at the age of 39.
His manager, Tasha Felder, announced his death on Instagram, stating that he left an indelible mark on the music industry.
He wrote:
“Today, Aug. 15, 2024, we have lost BeatKing.
“BeatKing has been the best part of the club for over a decade. He has produced and worked with so many artistes that his sound will forever live. He loved his music, his daughters and his fans. We will love him forever.”
He is survived by his two daughters and partner, Talameshia.
In another news, American rappers, Kodak Black, Lil Duck mourn Mohbad.
Kodak Black was particularly emotive in his tribute to Mohbad, using Instagram Live to connect with his fans and express his sadness.
He revealed that he had only come across Mohbad’s social media pages a few days before his death, and was struck by the young rapper’s talent and potential.
He said:
“R.I.P to Mohbad. Kodak you were his neighborhood hero till he passing. Damn!
“What’s so crazy right now is I just ran across this n*gga’s page this week -few days ago.
“Sleep well wherever you are, man.”
Lil Duck also joined Kodak Black in expressing his grief over Mohbad’s untimely passing.
The rapper, who has himself experienced the loss of many friends and colleagues in the industry, paid his respect to the late singer via his Instagram and X handle.
He wrote:
“RIP Mohbad aka Imole.”
Davido also paid tribute to Mohbad during ‘Timeless’ show
Mohbad’s unexpected passing at the tender age of 27 had left a nation in mourning, and Davido’s tribute added a poignant note to the ongoing remembrance of the talented artist.
During Mohbad’s burial earlier this week, Davido displayed his compassion by sending a generous condolences gift of 2 million naira to the grieving family.
