Chinedu Ikedieze “Aki” warns fans about scammers impersonating him


Popular Nigerian film actor Chinedu Ikedieze, widely known as Aki, has issued a warning to his fans and followers, while alerting them about scammers impersonating him online.

Taking to his official account on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram on Monday, Chinedu shared screenshots of a chat and a contact impersonating him.

In the exposed conversation, the scammer was attempting to deceive by requesting money, claiming they were unable to make transfers themselves.

Chinedu urged his followers to be vigilant, advising them to always verify any call or message they receive, especially if it appears to be from him. He wrote:

“Please guys, everyone should be careful,” “These scammers are on a rampage. They’ve devised another level of OBT.

“They now use pictures of public figures as their display picture and start calling or texting people within your circle.

This post is a clear example of how they operate. Confirm every call or message before attaining to humanity

See screenshots below: In a similar post, popular Nigerian singer, Flavour has raised an alarm over some fraudsters who are impersonating him on social media with intent to defraud his fans.

The singer took to the microblogging platform, X, formerly known as Twitter to warn his fans to beware of falling for such theatrics.

Flavour added that he would never beg his fans for money and advised they do not encourage such conversations if it does take place.
