Wizkid said he would have been a footballer if not for music

  • Nigerian music star, Wizkid has revealed that he would have been a footballer if he wasn’t doing music.
  • He claimed to have been a good footballer while in school which earned him a special place on the school team
  • Wizkid also shared that he doesn’t travel with bodyguards.

In an interview, Nigerian music sensation Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, shared a fascinating revelation about his life’s journey.

He revealed that if he wasn’t a musician, he would have pursued a football career.

He added that during his school days, he was an active member of the football team. However, his impatience and aversion to early morning training sessions led him to abandon the sport.

Wizkid further expressed admiration for his footballer friends, who demonstrate unwavering dedication to their craft. He disclosed that despite partying with him, they often refrain from smoking and drinking, prioritizing their early morning training sessions.

In another aspect of his life, Wizkid revealed his unconventional approach to security. Unlike many celebrities, he claimed that he doesn’t travel with bodyguards. Instead, he trusts his management team, considering them family, ranging from his manager, Sunday Are to Jada Pollock (his baby mama and member of his management team).

In another report, Wizkid a few days back broke silence after facing intense backlash for his recent post on social media

Starboy had taken to his verified accounts on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to post a cryptic message, saying “Una papa!” which translates to “Your father!”.

The post was accompanied by some photos of himself.

While some fans of Wizkid seemed to take the comment in stride, others were quick to express their outrage and disappointment.

One X user, @ArewaAdebukolaa, fired back at Wizkid, saying “Your papa too… this midget will just wake up, smoke igbo, and tweet rubbish. Your papa papa x10. Werey ni e nii?”

In response to the criticism, Wizkid took to his X account today, August 16th, to share a message of love and subtly addressed those who had attacked him.

Wizkid wrote, “Don’t get it twisted, love is a beautiful thing!”

He added, “Awon werey kan Lon correct daddy won,” which roughly translates to “Only mad people correct their fathers.”
