Tems Stated That There Shouldn’t Be a Standard on How Artistes Dress.

Nigerian singer, Tems has shared her thoughts on the importance of individuality in artistic expression.

Tems emphasized the significance of embracing one’s uniqueness, arguing that it is this distinctiveness that makes each person special.

She also shared her personal approach to fashion, explaining that her choices reflect her true personality rather than an attempt to pass a specific message.

She said:

You should be yourself even if something else is expected of you. You win, automatically, when you are yourself, no matter what that looks like. That’s why there’s variety.

“We are different and are not all meant to be the same. And I know there is a standard, but there shouldn’t be a standard for what people should dress like if they are artistes, or what people should dress like if they are women.

“I just feel like we are all unique. There shouldn’t be a requirement. There shouldn’t be a requirement or some kind of expectation that you should dress a certain way.”
