Late gospel singer Aduke Gold has finally been laid to rest, and a haunting video of her burial has surfaced online, capturing the raw emotions and dramatic farewell of her final journey.
The lying in state/burial service will take place on Friday, August 23 at Lagos African Church Grammar School College Bus Stop, College Road, Ogba from 9am.
In viral clips, heartbroken family members were seen arriving at the funeral ceremony, their faces etched with sadness and loss, their steps heavy with the weight of grief.
The atmosphere was thick with sorrow, as loved ones gathered to pay their last respects to a woman whose voice had once uplifted so many.
The scene then shifted to the pallbearers, who were dressed in striking striped aso oke with matching caps, moving with a haunting rhythm as they danced with her pristine white coffin.
This somber yet celebratory dance seemed to defy the darkness of death, transforming the funeral procession into a powerful statement of life, faith, and the indomitable spirit of a beloved gospel singer.
Breaking away from tradition, a hearse was chosen to carry her to her final resting place. But in a bold departure from the usual somber black, the family opted for a pure white hearse—a symbol, perhaps, of the purity and grace with which Aduke lived her life.
The hearse bore a wreath on its windscreen, creatively arranged to spell out her name, “Aduke,” in a floral tribute that was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking. Her picture was prominently displayed near the plate number, a final, moving homage to a woman whose impact will be felt far beyond her passing.
