- Dammy Krane has again shocked his fans with his latest announcement, following his recent clash with Davido.
- Recall the My Dear singer spent almost a week in detention for allegedly defaming the DMW boss.
- Following his release, Dammy Krane has announced plans to start a prison reform foundation due to what he went through.
Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has announced the launch of a new prison reform foundation following his recent release from prison.
This came after a high-profile legal tussle with fellow musician Davido.
Dammy Krane had previously made contentious statements about Davido, alleging that the singer’s upcoming wedding was a cover-up for infidelity.
He also claimed the Unavailable hitmaker was a murderer who had a hand in his friend, Tagbo’s death.
These statements led to a legal trouble for Dammy, as Davido’s legal team demanded a retraction and a stop to further defamatory statements.
Failure to comply could have resulted in severe legal repercussions.
Dammy Krane’s situation escalated when he was arrested last week on charges related to his inflammatory comments.
However, suprisingly, Davido chose to drop all charges, facilitating Dammy’s release on the 29th of August.
In his first public statement since his release, Dammy Krane expressed gratitude and issued an apology for his actions, acknowledging the severity of his words.
The My Dear crooner admitted that he knew he said a lot of things that weren’t supposed to be said, and apologised to Davido over accusations of Tagbo’s death.
Dammy Krane shockingly made a u-turn and called Davido his brother, adding that they will find major ground to resolve their differences.
He then announced the formation of a prison reform foundation dedicated to supporting those who have been wrongfully detained.
Via Twitter, now known as X, Dammy Krane declared his commitment to the cause stating:
“I’m STARTING A PRISON REFORM FOUNDATION FOR THE ILLEGALLY DETAINED. FreedomIsPriceless.”
