Controversial media personality and religious critic, Daddy Freeze has reacted to singer Rema’s jaw-dropping donation to a church in Benin.
Recall that in a viral clip, Rema shared a touching testimony of how the church had supported his family during a difficult period after his father’s passing. He expressed gratitude for the church’s kindness and generosity, which had helped his mother provide for their needs.
Rema’s donation to the church was a significant one, with funds allocated to the infrastructure department, the teenage church, and support for widows, all of which amounted to N105M.
Weighing in on the matter, Daddy Freeze clarified that Rema’s donation was not a tithe, but rather a return of favor to the church that had supported his family in their time of need.
He emphasized that the church had been there for Rema’s family financially when they were struggling, and now Rema was giving back to show his appreciation.
Daddy Freeze’s perspective highlighted the difference between giving to the church out of obligation (which he kicks against) and giving back out of gratitude. He praised Rema’s actions, stating that he should even consider giving more to the church that had made a significant impact on his life.
He wrote on IG saying:
“NO, Rema did not GIVE to the Church; He gave BACK to the Church. When his family was going through a rough patch, the church was there for them financially. He is now returning the favor. There is a huge difference.”
“Why did he give to that particular church? Because when he L0$T his dad, the church opened a shop for his mum. That was part of what helped his folks put food on the table during a difficult period.
So unlike you going to sow your seed in church, Rema is taking part of his ‘Harvest’ to those who sowed their seed in him.
As far as I’m concerned he should even give them more. God bless the pastor that sowed into his family.”
