Singer Korede Bello opens up on his decision to leave Mavins Records, a label he was signed to from 2014 to 2021.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Bello explained that he felt the need to reevaluate his personal growth and artistic purpose, leading him to depart from the label.
Korede Bello described feeling like a commercial product, solely used to generate profit, rather than an artist exploring his true worth and passion.
He acknowledged that the pursuit of chart-topping hits and external validation can distract artists from what truly matters in their artistic journey.
In his words:
“I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose, to explore my inner worth, to do introspection, understand myself, understand meaning more, and reconnect to my why.
“Because I was at a stage where I started to feel like a product that is just there [at Mavins Records] to make money.
“You lose sight of what matters when you chase after the next hit, after the next whatever it is that can get you into conversations. So a lot of artists are addicted to that circle.”
Korede Bello had earlier opened up on his experience with DonJazzy in Mavins record label.
In a recent heartfelt post on his X account, Korede Bello opened up about his deep appreciation and admiration for his former record label boss, Don Jazzy.
The “Godwin” crooner took to his social media platform to pour out his sentiments, expressing his admiration for Don Jazzy’s character both during their time together in Mavins and beyond.
Korede Bello’s tribute was filled with genuine gratitude and admiration for the iconic music producer.
