Why fuel from Dangote’s refinery is ‘pure white’ in color – Charly Boy

Charly Boy’s passionate insights into Dangote’s groundbreaking venture not only illuminate the technical aspects but also ignite hope for a future where innovation meets environmental responsibility. His remarks have sparked a wave of excitement and curiosity, leaving many eager to see how this development could reshape Nigeria’s fuel industry and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy and the convener of the now-defunct OurMumuDonDo advocacy group, made headlines on Thursday by shedding light on the intriguing reasons behind the strikingly pure white color of the Premium Motor Spirit produced by Dangote’s refinery.

With his characteristic wit, Charly Boy dissected the science behind this fuel, explaining that it’s refined from ethanol, a crucial detail that could revolutionize the automotive landscape.

He elaborated that this ethanol-derived fuel boasts an impressive efficiency for engines, setting it apart from traditional petrol.

According to him, the unique formulation includes a significant amount of oxygen, which plays a pivotal role in reducing carbonation levels within engines. This innovative approach not only enhances engine performance but also significantly lessens harmful emissions.

According to the Maverick entertainer, one of the standout benefits of ethanol-refined fuel is its potential to combat air pollution.

By minimizing the production of carbon dioxide, he claimed, this fuel represents a cleaner, greener alternative that could lead to a healthier environment.

In a post titled: “Why Dangote fuel is white,” Charly Boy wrote: “Reason why the PMS is pure like water. Petrol has different colors, when it’s Red that means Octane was added.

“When it’s slightly Green then Octane is slightly very much. When is Yellow it means it has no lead in it. That means it’s unleaded. But when it’s clear as water as seen in the video then you should know that ethanol was used. What ethanol does is that it improves engine efficiency and power.

“Because ethanol has a good amount of oxygen it lessens the amount of carbonation in engines thereby reducing air pollution which comes as Carbon dioxide. So this is the best form of Petrol. Congratulations Dangote.”

Yesterday, the founder of Dangote Group, lAliko Dangote disclosed that the refinery was ready to commence production of fuel..

Displaying a sample of the fuel from the refinery, Dangote said President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council, FEC, would decide the price tag for petroleum products from the refinery.
