Mohbad’s mum, in new video, flares up in court over singer’s one year remembrance

As the days draw closer to the one-year mark since Mohbad left this world, his mother’s words ring with the weight of sorrow and defiance over his rememberance. She doesn’t want his memory to be lost in a sea of flashing lights and hollow tributes. Instead, she calls for something deeper, something that speaks to the soul—a remembrance shaped by the raw, aching love that only a mother can understand. It’s not about what the world wants; it’s about what her son deserves.

Abosede, the mother of late Nigerian music sensation Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has set off a storm with her recent outburst regarding her son’s upcoming first-year remembrance.

As emotions run high ahead of the somber anniversary, she’s not holding back her frustrations about how things have unfolded.

Mohbad tragically passed away in Lagos on September 12, allegedly from complications related to an ear infection. His sudden and shocking death rattled the entire music industry and his fans, especially when he was hurriedly laid to rest in his hometown, Ikorodu, just hours after his demise.

Many believed there was more to his death, and despite efforts to dig into the mystery, answers remain frustratingly out of reach, leaving a dark cloud over his passing.

Now, in a new twist, Mohbad’s mother, in viral video, broke her silence in a fiery address during a coroner’s inquest. With raw emotion, she made it crystal clear that she stands by the singer’s father and fully backs his decisions on how to handle their late son’s remembrance.

In a shocking revelation, she called for a low-key affair, stating that the family doesn’t want any flashy celebrations. Instead, she urged fans to lift Mohbad up in prayers, whether in a church or mosque, keeping things spiritual rather than sensational.

Mohbad’s mum, Abosede said:

“Whatever Mohbad’s dad says is the final. We don’t want any elaborate celebration over our son’s remembrance. The best you can do is to pray for him. You all should please leave us alone and let us settle our family”
